In my garden and on the estates in 's-Graveland, Netherlands the special bulbflowers are flowering again :-) Grape hyacinth, Hellebore, anemone blanda, chionodoxa, petasites, scilla, daffodil....
Dordrecht is the oldest town of Holland. Not the oldest of the Netherlands because Holland origanally means the western part of the Netherlands (North-Holland and South-Holland) Dordrecht is situated south of Rotterdam in South-Holland. W've been there friday with a group of friends. Also been to the Biesbosch, which is a well-know nature reserve, with common jewelweed (impatiens capense) which is not so commom.. but rather rare here, old ships in the harbour and the town.
Wednesday and thursday an inventarisation job for Econsultancy. Hired to educate a couple of fieldworkers in recognation plants and vegetation types. Project leader is my son :-) Not so good weather, cloudy and on thursday almost whole day raining. But very special places in the west of Brabant. several types of orchids, sedges, grasses and so on. Here a couple of dactylorhiza species and a Himantoglossum hircinum, one of the most scarce species in the Netherlands.
Wednesday a beautiful sunset in De Wieden, a lake and swamp area, famous for its nature and Natura 2000 protected. Iris foetidissima in my garden is after years in flower for the very first time. Grown from seed... and sometimes I'm experimenting imaging flowers and seeds...
I've been around Hilversum today. May be possibility to sell images for a walking guide. My own garden, Gooilust, Hilversum townhall, rhododendron in Pinetum Blijdenstein.
