lichens in winter

Even when the weather is not as good as you wish, you can find out there a lot of nature to wonder of.

During a short "new years strawl" from a LinkedIn contact I took the time to shoot some mosses and lichens and a yearround toadstool. I'm not shure but I think it's Deadalea quercina (doolhofzwam in Dutch)

Oesterzwam, Oyster Mushroom

Gisteren vonden we ook nog een oesterzwam (Pleurotus ostreatus) op een dode beuk op Planken Wambuis. Veel mensen denken dat alleen in de herfst paddenstoelen groeien maar in ieder jaargetijde kun je ze vinden. De oesterzwam is meestal een late groeier en wordt ook commercieel gekweekt omdat het een prima eetbare zwam is. Deze heb ik laten staan omdat ook anderen er dan nog plezier aan kunnen beleven en omdat ze al wat oud zijn :-) Yesterday we found in Planken Wambuis this Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on a dead Beech-tree. This edible toadstool is growing in late autumn and winter. Most people think that mushrooms are growing in autumn, but in al seasons you can find mushrooms and toadstools. In spring, summer and winter you can find species, but in late summer and autumn you can find most.

Fungus

Deze berkenzwam (Piptoporus betulinus) kwam ik tegen op een liggende boomstam op Gooilust, 's-Graveland. Birch Bracket (Piptoporus betulinus - also known as Razor Strop) I found on Gooilust in 's-Graveland
